From Ed Pease, PSA President

The DC Area Reunion last weekend was a huge success.

Under the leadership of Mark Rom and his crack committee, there were 78 participants and a tremendous program that included day hikes to historic sites in northern Virginia, a private tour of the US Capitol Building, a birthday party celebrating Joe Davis’ 90th, a recognition for Congressman Pete Sessions and his family thanking him for his leadership on the low-altitude bomber issue, presentations by Mark Anderson and Ryan King, tremendous music by Doc Walker, Mark Rom and Mark Wray, and a beautiful interfaith service provided by Fr. Dan Mode (former Philmont Ranger).

If you are going to be involved in reunion planning, make a point to talk with Mark about how they organized it — their plan spread the load so no one was overburdened, and it worked very well. They got some more new members, and they even made a profit, which has been forwarded to the PSA. Oh, and they are also running an eBay auction of donated BSA stuff to raise money for the Rayado Scholarship Fund. Participants were asked to bring stuff to donate to the auction, and a sizable number did.
