At Clark’s Fork, on the last night on the trail, I celebrated my 17th birthday; Philmont has been an important part of my life ever since. But you don’t need me to tell you how Philmont stays with a person. It’s more than just the beauty and drama of the surroundings, more than the tremendous impact made on youth and adults, more than the relationships built; Philmont is a powerful combination of all of these and more. There’s a magical quality to the place, don’t you agree?

How have you been affected by Philmont and the PSA? Were you a PSA trek participant? Are you proud of the scholarship work the PSA does for staff and participants? Does reading High Country give you a sense of connection? A gift to the PSA Annual Fund impacts all staff – past, present and future. It’s also a show of gratitude for the opportunities all of us have been given by such a special place.

Quite simply, this place helped make me into the person I am today, and I’m grateful to be in a place where I can help it out. If you have not already made your annual gift, please do. Every gift continues Philmont’s important role in so many lives.
