Tired of Spam?

…Well, the backcountry staff is!   The original and now outdated PSA cookbook is overloaded with recipes that include ingredients no longer available at the Commissary (i.e. SPAM!).

We are looking for recipes to include in the new PSA Backcountry Cookbook to be distributed this summer to the backcountry camps.  Wouldn’t you like to share your favorite peach cobbler recipe?  Pork and beans?  Wood burning stove biscuits?

Please send in your favorite recipes for:

  • Soups
  • Starters
  • Salads
  • Main Dishes
  • Side Dishes
  • Desserts
  • Breads and Rolls and
  • Anything else edible and delicious

Please keep in mind that backcountry cooking is rustic. Many camps cook on a wood-burning stove and prefer as little measuring as possible!  With any questions (ex: available ingredients) please contact Randy Saunders at the PSA Office 575-376-1138 or email to: [email protected]
