Friday May 1st through Sunday May 3rd, 2009

You may have read the story of the Watchu Experience in High Country (June 2004) or Scouting Magazine (May/June 2005). If not copies are available at The Watchu Experience is a year long teenage program of anticipation, planning, and training for High Adventure; primarily Philmont.

The program highlight, two days in a simulated Philmont setting, is a weekend of fun, excitement, inspiration, and crew self evaluation. The weekend is called the Watchu Mountain Adventure. This year it will be held Friday May 1st through Sunday May 3rd, 2009. 20 crews of 240 members and 30 staff will participate. We have made arrangements for up to 12 PSA members to observe and participate in the weekend.

The Watchu Experience has had a very positive impact on Patriots’ Path Council’s (PPC) retention, recruiting, and advancement. At last report, PPC ranked 2nd in retention among the 20 largest councils in the Northeast Region. If you have been thinking about developing such a program in your own council you don’t want to miss this opportunity. We hope you will join us.

The weekend fee for PSA members, including all 6 meals, is $25.00. You may use your own tent or stay in a nearby hotel; 10 minutes away.
