Update: Registration deadline extended to July 31st!
The Philmont Staff Association 2011 Summer Reunion will be held on the weekend of August 5-7, at Rocky Mountain Scout Camp. With one of the most profound views of the Tooth of Time, Rocky Mountain Scout Camp is the prefect venue for PSA members and their families to share in a weekend of activities, service, fellowship, and sharing memories.
This summer’s reunion will also celebrate the 40th anniversary of Philmont Conservation. The activities on Saturday afternoon, August 6, will include a Conservation Fair. Come see a display of sumps from all eras of Philmont history. Leadership from Philmont Conservation past and present will be featured guests at dinner on Saturday night. Adam Fromm, former Conservation and OA Trail Crew leadership (’00-’01), is organizing a celebration for Philmont Conservation that will be historical, educational, and entertaining.
Of course, the Reunion weekend will have day hikes and a service project. Musicians are invited and needed to perform at a campfire that will make the mountains proud. There will also be a Rabbi Zeke Palnick Porch Talk and ice cream social. Dinner on Friday night will be at the PSA Staff Dining Hall. The PSA’s Annual Business Meeting will be on Saturday afternoon. Rocky Mountain Scout Camp offers canvas wall tents for housing, showers, and an excellent place for the family to spend the weekend.
Register an adult (12 and up) for $100 or a child (5-11) for $30 online. Children 4 and younger are free.
Register is for 2009 and not 2011. What is the cost? and etc.

@dick thanks for the heads up. Something I updated must not have be published properly. I’ll get the corrections up tonight. The reunion’s not at Kit Carson either, it’s at RMSC.
Registration links all fixed for 2011.
I highly recommend the reunion. Our family went in 2006 and had a great time. We stayed at RMSC, and the campfire was outstanding.
Where is Rocky Mountain Scout Camp ? I am too old or is South of Cimmarron ?
@ed I doubt your too old, but I can say that RMSC is south of Cimarron. RMSC is located on Philmont along the Lovers’ Leap Turnaround road south of Tooth Ridge.
When I worked at the PTC in the late 80s it was used as a summer camp for the Boy Scout aged boys who came with their parents to the Training center. Later that program was modified to be used more as an ‘as needed day camp’ for all the PTC family groups. It may have been used from time to time since then for Wood Badge courses, but I’m not sure.
There is kitchen and small outdoor dining area as well as patrol sized tent areas with platforms and wall tents. I’ve never been there long enough to need a shower, but I don’t recall seeing one there when I was.
There are some quite nice showers at Rocky Mountain and at least one latrine has flush toilets.
Thank you………………..
I agree with Lee. I served on NAYLE session 3 staff this summer, and we were based out of RMSC. The shower and Latrine facility was very nice. As I stated before, my family had lots of fun there in 2006, I highly recommend attending.
Heading that way in two days!! Really looking forward to it!!
PSA Trek was awesome…looking forward to next year!!
