In 1941, a veteran Scout leader takes a group of boys from Quinnipiac Council in Connecticut—after intensive preparation at Yale—to Philmont to conduct the first archeological “dig” on the Ranch. The introduction and afterword by Dave Caffey put the story in context of the times.
